Blackie

My Times

We had a terrible time at home last week. Our beloved friend Blackie passed away on Friday morning after complications with Pancreatitis. We loved her dearly and will always miss her. God bless Blackie.

This week Too Bloody Much has been uploaded to MP3

Two weeks ago the show went well with Emily Richards at the The Gig on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood. I opened the show with Turning Me Inside Out and Norwegian Wood but time ran out for Dear Mr Grim Reaper.
Other performers on the night included Andrea Florian from Toronto who was brilliant and Marie Claire from Argentina and London who wrote Falling In to You with Rick Nowells and Billy Steinberg for Celine Dion.

Last week I played a full acoustic set at the The Gig. Stay tuned for more shows soon...

Here is an interesting article on Producing.

I wonder if todays golfers would score well with yesterdays golf technology?
Could they reach the Par 5's with a set of Hickory Shaft golf clubs and a Feathery?
Probably not.
With the consistency of todays club technology, Balls, the condition of modern golf courses as well as the quantity and quality of practice facilities, the average player has a much better chance of scoring low today than in years gone by.
And if you don't care about the rules you can use a Powerclub.

Another season of Formula One starts this weekend in Australia.
Testing has been going on since the last race of last year in Japan and all the new cars have been seen on the track at some point during the pre-season.
Aside from Mclaren with Mercedes engines and Ferrari with their own, Jordan will have the latest Mugen Honda engine before Honda joins next year with their own car. Since we don't expect the other engines to be a match, 1999 shouldn't be all that different than 1998 with Schumacher and the Mclarens fighting it out at the front. But then again, this is Formula One, and anything can happen...

Many years ago, I think it was 1971, I remember seeing Ronnie Peterson driving the wheels off his March into second place at Mosport Park in Canada. I became a big fan from the moment I first saw him come down the hill at turn 2.
In 1973 Ronnie had 9 pole positions! I don't think anyone has had more in a season.
In the old days, the pilot was not as well protected as they are today. Ronnie succumbed to injuries suffered in a start line crash at Monza in 1978.

"Democracy is the greatest form of government to my mind that man has ever conceived, but the weakness is that we have never touched it. Isn't it true that we have often taken necessities from the masses to give luxuries to the classes? Isn't it true that we have often in our democracy trampled over individuals and races with the iron feet of oppression? Isn't it true that through our Western powers we have perpetuated colonialism and imperialism?."
