Emily, Al and the Sony.

My Times

This week's song is an internet only single of How Can I Do This. (it takes a day to appear on the mp3 page...)

It was recorded in 1993 in East Sussex and Co-Produced with Walter Turbitt.
I thought it was time everyone heard it!

It really should have been on One Moment in Time
When it was time to put the album together I chickened out...

How Can I Do This
Recorded and Mixed 1993 in East Sussex on 16 track 1/2".
The MIDI recorder was Notator on an Atari 1040 ST.
I'm playing all the instruments and Walter added Electric Guitar.

The first 3 tracks for a new Emily Richards album have been completed.
Next week we carry on with 2 more songs.

The band are recording on a 16 track 1/2" and then we are transferring the tracks to Logic Audio in my studio where we record vocals and anything else we might need.

I hope the songs will be available for your listening pleasure soon...

If you used to be a fan of the Goons then your kids will love this song - Ying Tong Song.

According to the US Department of Energy many products like Televisions, VCR's, Computer's, Stereo's and Answering Machines leak and waste electricity even after they have been turned off. And that's because they are not really turned off at all; they are put into Standby Mode.
When you push the On button on your remote control you are not powering up the TV, it's already on.
Meanwhile the electricity has leaked away and you have had to pay for it.

The average color TV uses 200 watts per hour when it is turned on. When it is in Standby Mode it uses 10 watts per hour. The average household watches 4 hours of TV per day ( 800 watts). During the other 20 hours in Standby Mode the TV leaks 200 Watts of electricity.

That's about1000 Watts per day or One Kilowatt and you pay about10 cents for it. When you multiply it by the 190 million Tv's in the USA it turns out to be a lot of wasted energy indeed.

The bad news is that Cable boxes and Satellite Dishes use as much power when they are off as when they are on. How smart is that?

It is estimated that 5% of all the energy consumed in America is leaked away. Wasted...

The Apple Power Mac G4 needs 200-338 Watts to run, plus the monitor using more than 100 Watts and each of your PCI cards using about 50 Watts.

What are we doing about it? What are the EPA doing? Why are there not stricter laws about the amount of electricity these products are allowed to leak?

It is time that wasting energy was taken as seriously as other polluters of the environment.
