We had a frightening Fire near my house last week...

My Times

This weeks Song of the Week is Buddy.
It's a rockin little number that came about while checking out the Amp Farm plug-in on my Pro Tools rig in May.
It was recorded to hard disk and the MIDI was recorded in Performer.
I'm playing and singing and everythings a first take. No edits.
I think the lyric works both ways.

Over at the Billboard web site they have most of an interview with the quitest Beatle George Harrison. It's nice that not everyone has a full time press officer filling the media with George's favourite videos...Ricky Martin!

In other Beatle news - I can't give you a report on the George Martin concert 2 weeks ago at the Hollywood Bowl because I didn't get to go to it. I heard it was great...

The mixing has finally begun. I've read everything I can about getting the most music onto a 16 bit CD without destroying the wonderful 24 bit sound I'm working with.
It's a whole new world for me.
Plug-ins like Filter Bank and the new Waves 2.6 are great despite the computer crashes that I've had to learn to avoid as my inserts and busses fill my DSP. What the hell is he talking about?

I came across this gem of a news story from USA Today trying to explain why the figures quoted daily by NATO and the Clinton Administration "to describe the wartime plight of Albanians in Kosovo now appear greatly exaggerated".

And what ever happened to Paul Watson?

" NATO personnel shall enjoy, together with their vehicles, vessels, aircraft, and equipment, free and unrestricted passage and unimpeded access throughout the FRY including associated airspace and territorial waters. This shall include, but not be limited to, the right of bivouac, maneuver, billet, and utilization of any areas or facilities as required for support, training, and operations. ."
