Ferrone on the V Drums for the James Albin CD

My Times

This week I thought it was finally time to release a couple of news songs on MP3.
Since most of my last album was written in 1992 I guess 10 years is how long it takes for me to find the inspiration to write.
All the new songs are the writing demos without any help from any 'real' musicians...I'm going to try and re-record them as soon as I can put a band together.

Dear,Please was the 3rd song written between July and September of this past summer. This is another of those 'wanting' songs...with a heavy Bach influence...I've written quite a few of them. Some day I hope not to have to write one.

The Open Door was the second last song from my summer bonanza. It was written after one of the most stressfull nights I have ever spent in my life.
Without going into detail, let's just say everything that could go wrong did go wrong that night. I couldn't do anything to save it. Wait for the book...
Despite that, when I woke up the next morning I never felt better and I started this song with my new at the time Rhodes Plugin.
A total feeling of peace came out in the music but the lyrics speak of the pain of living through that night...and it only got worse the next one!

Throughout that time I was grateful for my ability to write music working as an outlet for my emotions. What else would I do if I didn't have music? Obviously I'd go completely insane!

I hope to have all 12 of my summer of 2002 songs uploaded and available for sale in the next couple of weeks. Maybe I can find another disappearing record company to release them?

Last Friday I did a last minute gig with old friend and brilliant organist/writer/pianist/accordianist and singer Christoph Bull at The Coffee Shop in Silver Lake.
I performed 2 new songs from my upcoming CD as well as The Hollywood Sign and State of Mind in a white bright room with the rain falling down the window at our backs.
We finished the night with Beatle songs...

Things are looking good for a repeat of our Derby show on December 11th. Stay tuned...
