My Times

This week Horace's Cope is my site of the week. I never knew that Charlie Ming was so old!

I have recently downloaded Netscape 2.0 b3. This version of the beta works well enough that I am now using it.
We Mac users still don't get to have Java implemented, but at least my own pages seem to work properly, unlike the b2 version of last month where my buttons would'nt appear etc!

I'm in the midst of moving servers, as I may have mentioned a few weeks ago. I hope to be at johnjones.com before christmas.

A while ago I mentioned that you could download the new Beatle song at the John Lennon site, before it became an Electric Light Orchestra song!
Since some of you were not able to find it...here is Free as a Bird in .wav format. You will need to have the program SoundApp on your hard disk and also tell your browser where it is on your hard disk in order for you to hear it.

If you click on my picture you will hear a John Lennon quote!

Many years ago...when I was a boy...Fred Mandel was a Rock & Roll piano, organ and guitar player who went to my Jr High School in Toronto. Fred was very good! I was lucky enough to Jam with him in his parents basement on Fenn Avenue in grade 8! He went on to play with Alice Cooper,Queen and Elton John.
Fred played piano on one of the songs I'm producing for Dan Hill . Dan suggested we call him. What a great surprise for me! I had last run into Fred in the "lift" at Air Studios in London when he was recording the Reg Strikes Back LP with Elton.
When we managed to stop talking about York Mills, Fred played some killer piano!
Look for Fred Mandel from the late 70's to the early 90's on your album notes.
There's a story somewhere about a famous Brian May solo that.....

I spoke with Nick Rhodes the other day about Duran Duran. He says they are recording with Simon this week, and that many of the lyrics have been written for the upcoming LP, which is due to be released at the end of May!

Meanwhile, Nick and Warren are recording a duetto album!
The latest song they're working on is called "I wanna make films". The new band is named TV Mania and the present title is Bored with Prozac & the Internet

Some Quotes from November 30,1995

Nick "Its the ultimate in Pop culture".
Warren "music from the junk drawer".
Tinley- "It all started with Grab the Sun - but it's now gone beyond genetic science".

Politics

I have just read a series of articles in my daily paper, The Independant, about Rupert Murdoch and his many companies.
Total profits were near 1 billion GBpounds, yet total taxes were around 10 million GBP! Whats wrong with this picture?

"If I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself"
(JAMES BLAKE 1883-1983)
