7 AM mist, on the 1st Tee at Woodley Lakes...
My Times
One Moment in Time is in stores across Canada.
Turning Me Inside Out - the new single.
Both singles from my album - Turning Me Inside Out and State of Mind are on the MP3 Pop chart. Last week the Emily Richards song Don't Turn Around reached #1 on the same MP3 Chart! Have you listened to an mp3 yet?
Here is a website that has information about portable mp3 players - MP3 Hardware
Julian Lennon has his own site up and running. He has links to his Record Company where you can hear samples of his new album.
I don't know what happened to the songs we were working on...
Chris Kimsey produced the Duran Duran album Liberty.
Chris drove a red 328 Ferrari and lived in a forest with a wonderful family in a house that was within walking distance of Olympic Studios in Barnes, which is where we recorded and mixed the album.
Along with super engineer Chris Potter, we were treated to a classic album recording session with Mr K at the helm.
It was during these sessions that I became JJ, because there could only be one John, and his last name was Taylor.
We were treated to good food and special wines, while recording in an historic studio where the Beatles recorded.
The bands fans stayed at the front door of the studio through very cold nights, saved only by mercy cups of coffee from the studio kitchen when it rained.
Many times as we left the studio at 5 AM, the girls would thank us for going home. Unfortunatley for them, we worked later and later each night!
Most of them had to be at work or school in the morning...
And they were back the next afternoon to continue their vigil!
Conversation usually centered around how late Nick would be...I wish I'd taken some pictures...
I think Liberty's a pretty cool album. We did a ton of sampling... Antartica is a brilliant song...
The worlds cities need a cleaner and cheaper way to move people around without everyone driving a car or taking a bus. Subways cost $300 million per mile or more and even a simple bus through-lane costs $15 million a mile.
The alternatives are available and only require a bit of imagination on the part of our city councils.
The most obvious solution is some form of Suspended Urban Transit Vehicles. They can be anything from an automated Taxi service to linked cars running like a subway. The big difference is they run on tracks raised above the ground on pylons - like Monorail trains at Disney Land and Gondalas in the mountains - and they run on electricity.
They take up far less valuable real estate space and can be run from overhead tracks and cables. Systems can be constructed with very little disruption. The "tracks" can be moved around to other locations. Try moving a subway!
If you have the time, take a look at these vehicles and ideas that surely must be the answer to the city clogging and disgusting pollution our current choices are over run by.
"Democracy is the greatest form of government to my mind that man
has ever conceived, but the weakness is that we have never touched it.
Isn't it true that we have often taken necessities from the masses to
give luxuries to the classes? Isn't it true that we have often in our
democracy trampled over individuals and races with the iron feet of
oppression? Isn't it true that through our Western powers we have
perpetuated colonialism and imperialism?." |
