With all the catching up I have to do, I still need a laugh.
Cockney Rhyming Slang is just what the doctor ordered!
My times site of the week is Music News of the World.
The worst part about being disconnected was that I was unable to wish my mom, Dorothy and my brothers Charles and James a very Happy Birthday in November!
Also a very happy birthday to Noam Chomsky who turned 68 on the weekend!
I was in Toronto to collect an award for So Blind, which I wrote with Alan Frew, from SOCAN, the Canadian Performing Rights Society.
Meanwhile, I've been working in the studio with Mick Fleetwood and Peter Bardens recording with Peters daughter Tallulah.
I thought this story about the Celine Dion album was really pretty funny.
Thank you for coming to my debut performance at the Horseshoe in Toronto for the Songwriters Association of Canada's Bluebird North showcase.
Special thanks to Sam Reid for organising the songwriters, Ian Thomas for letting me play his Martin guitar, and most of all to Anthony Vanderburgh for playing the parts that other guitarists just can't reach!
With songs written by Peter, Tallulah and Peters 12 year old son Sam, I'm very excited about the way things are turning out.
We expect to be finished before Christmas with the first 4 songs. Look out!
I mean, if Jim's really serious about the Grammy committee recognising great songs, then surely Seduces Me would be the only song from the album nominated! ( I'm biased!)
My album is taking a lot longer to sort out than I expected. I'm still trying to secure the Canadian release.
With a bit of luck the details will be complete in time for a February release of the first single. In the meantime I just have to bite my nails waiting for the worst part of being an artist...The Music Business!
