24 track to Pro Tools transfers at LA FX Studio...

My Times

One of the biggest problems in the world today is Nationalism. It makes people crazy. Someday in the future I hope the world will abolish borders and be one country; Earth.
This weeks Song of the Week, What's a Nation, is from the early 90's and was written and recorded at a time when I was hoping that day would come sooner rather than later...

This coming Sunday the 17th of October at 8 PM I will be opening the Club MP3 Tour at the Troubador in Los Angeles.
A web page is available for you to listen to songs from the MP3 groups who will be performing at the show and features my new internet only single - Dear Mr Grim Reaper with Stephen Ferrone on Drums.
The show is also being Video'd for later broadcasting.
This is my first major club date in LA, so please come out and see the show and enjoy being at the club made famous for ejecting John Lennon and Harry Nilsson for heckling Tom Smothers back in 1974!

The photo at the top of this page is from the The Lost Tapes of Mick Fleetwood sessions. You can see the Pro Tools system and it's hard drives and interfaces recording from the Studer 24 track in the background. The console is a very lovely API.
Over the past 3 weeks I've transferred and mixed 41 songs by Mick's blues band - The Blue Whale.
This week we're mixing a live concert from the Star Hotel in Ghana, Africa from the 1980's that features 20 African bands as well as Mick and his entourage.
The Best of Volume 1 is shaping up nicely!

Wether it's Golf or Football or Rugby, people seem to loose control and make sporting events mini wars. The Ryder Cup a couple of weeks ago is a case in point. The fans and some of the players got out of hand and spoiled the "sporting" nature of the tournament by taking the whole thing too seriously.
This is what the US players will be up against when they meet the Europeans at the next Ryder Cup - revenge at the 19th hole......

" When I watch TV and see those poor, starving kids all over the world, I can't help but cry. I mean, I'd love to be skinny like that, but not with all the flies and death and stuff." ."
Mariah Carey, quoted in Vox Magazine
