My Times
Conchetta was the first song I wrote on our new at the time Fairlight CMI at ESP Studios.
It was the most exciting time of my life getting to play samples of real Cellos and Violins on a keyboard!
In 1981 the Fairlight was state of the art and brought a new world of possibilities to record production and was a big part of many bands and producers sound...Thomas Dolby, Herbie Hancock, Peter Gabriel, Trevor Horn to name a few....
The piano is real one played by me ... it's the Kawai 5'10" that's now in the Pepall's party room...
Conchetta was recorded in Buttonville, Ontario on an MCI 2" 16 Track through an MCI console using the Fairlight sequencer Page R.
The mix came from a cassette! Maybe JC has the master tape or the 1/4" mix somewhere?
Do You Remember was one of my first Pro Tools Mix Plus productions and has been a major hit on Mp3.com for more than a year...
Dear Mr Grim Reaper is still hanging around on the All Time Charts at Garageband...
What they're not bothering to tell the public is that government spending will have to be cut in the future to pay for it. And just like Reagan the cuts will come from Education and Social Services. More bus tickets to Los Angeles?
Anyone lucky enough to get an education in California before the 1980's cuts should still be able to remember that California had one of the best education systems in the USA. Look at it now. How much worse can it get?
As long as politicians are paid for by big business they will continue to believe that governments job is to provide somewhere for business to play.
If you think we have problems, how would you like to be these poor people?
Their picture is under Refugee in the dictionary...
The race was a good one and the tire war and the improved competition are going to be the stories of the year.
Despite blowing an oil line, new boy Juan Montoya drove the 4th fastest race lap in his first Grand Prix.
I think the BMWs, Jordans and BARs are going to run well at times this year. Even the Prost and the Saubers, who might have their traction control working early, are looking ready for a fight.
Here are my 2001 F1 Links...with almost all of the new cars...for your surfing pleasure.
