7 AM mist, on the 1st Tee at Woodley Lakes...

My Times

The NAMM show in Los Angeles was great last week. The new Tascam mx 2424 hard disk recorder was my choice for hit of the show.
My vote for best booth artwork goes to HHB.
Mick Fleetwood was on the other side of the booth...I ran into Steve Ferrone playing electronic drums for Alesis...and I saw a fantastic Theremin player performing in the courtyard.
What is the world coming to?

It's the Radiohead audio archive; The Perfect Song Facsimile.
You'll need a PC/Windows machine to hear the music.
The songs are in the new VQF format which is supposed to sound better than an mp3 while being 30% smaller.
Since I use a Mac, I can't tell you if it's true...And I can't listen to the Radiohead archive either!

According to the FAA our friends at Boeing are being fined for hiding a serious defect in one of their planes.

Another reason that some major web sites were "down" last week can be explained by this weeks quote. It seems that most of the affected sites use Global Center's routing system.
To make matters worse, some of the sites changed their search engine software on the day the problems occurred. It seems that Mac users running Internet Explorer were unable to use the search functions at many of the sites because of some bad programming that took a few hours to repair...hacker attack?

" The person, who asked to remain anonymous, said that his firm also lost connectivity through Global Center's Sunnyvale, California, facility during the same time period due to apparent router problems, not hacker attacks."
