My Times
It seems like years since we finished the State of Mind video. In fact it was last summer.
Time certainly does fly in the entertainment business...
This week I'm working with director Neil Grieve editing the footage and adding effects to the 4 minute video. We hope to have it ready for prime time by months end.
The State of Mind single on Iron Music/BMG goes out to Canadian Radio by the end of this week. If enough people at the radio stations like it, you might hear it in August.
Here is an interesting website belonging to the Broadcast Data System people.
BDS track radio airplay electronically for their customers and produce charts in a variety of formats for most cities around the USA and Canada.
The site lets you see the US top 10 where you can check out what they're playing in Little Rock or Washington,DC.
The BDS site also has a useful Music Industry Links page.
My single won't be released in the USA this year but the same system is used in Canada to compile the Record/BDS airplay chart.
Most singles are not released for sale to the public in Canada so the sales chart is not as important as the airplay one.
You have to buy a magazine or pay BDS some money to read their charts...
If you have a Macintosh computer you can download the Title Track CD player.
It access's an on-line database and gives you the Song Titles for your CD's when you play them on the computer. Some albums also have notes and you can enter your own CD information into the database.
I don't know how it knows what CD it is when you load it in the drive, but it does!
It also updates the same file that your other Apple CD Audio player uses so you have the song titles when you use that program as well!
I feel the need to put a Beatle in todays news, so here is a pretty cool Paul McCartney website - Plugged.
Paul was not the only left handed Beatle.

The movie Stuart Bliss (with my score and a couple of songs from the album) will now be playing in the Filmfest Hamburg as well as other film festivals this autumn. The SB website has a list.
The Montreal Festival Des Films Du Monde 1998 starts next week.
Michael Schumacher has done it again! He drove the pants off his 310B at the Hungaroring on Sunday. With Villeneuve 3rd and Hill 4th the race made me long for the days before pit stops.
When the FIA made fuel tanks smaller a few years ago , they thought they were doing it to make the races more entertaining.
Wasn't it better when the race was the show, not the pit stops?
