If I may correct the recent news regarding Apple Computer and Apple Corp. - the lawsuit from the late 1980's was not about Apple speakers but about the Apple MIDI Interface. I know. I was the one who showed it to Paul McCartney in Studio 5 at AIR in London and later went to Court as a witness for Apple Corp against Apple Computer.
Why is Steve Jobs acting like John Scully?
I was told that Apple Computer were given the right to use the Apple name and logo free of charge as long as Apple Computer did not get into the Music or Film business...in which case they had to call it something else...

If we really care about our life on Earth then
it's time to look at our energy usage and see what we can do to slow down and
hopefully turn around the decimation we are causing to the only planet we are
likely to ever find to breathe on.
Canada consumes per capita the most energy in the world, the United Sates
ranks second, and Italy consumes the least among industrialized countries
according to Solarenergy.org.
In
1997, U.S. residents consumed an average of 12,133 kilowatt-hours of electricity
each, almost nine times greater than the average for the rest of the world
We are responsible for nearly 26% of the World's pollution with only 5% of the
Earth's population!
Appliances use 90% of the electricity in American homes. The average home produces 23,000 pounds of Carbon Dioxide the Greenhouse gas per year, more than a 6 cylinder BMW pollutes driving 15,000 miles and a little less than a Bentley Continental.
The single biggest cause of pollution in homes is electric water heaters. These buggers account for 25% of our total electricity usage or more than 5,000 pounds of Carbon Dioxide.
One answer is to force new homes to install Solar Water Heaters which are 6-8 times more expensive than electric one's but obviously cause no pollution whatsoever. While we're at it, why not have all new homes have at least 30 kW's of Solar panels, which would more than supply their electricity needs, and offer tax incentives to retrofit all older homes and business's?
