Marmont Party
My Times
Where do I start? It's
been 2 months since last I wrote...loads of things have been happening.
I performed and
produced the music to an ad for Lindows, the operating
software maker.
The Lyrics and Animation were created & executed by the super talented Kevin
Carmony.
In June at Drumroll
we had rehearsals for Stephen Ferrone's 7 piece Jazz,Funk & Rock
band.
Steve usually has a couple of Drum
kits set up with one of them mic'd. The room also has 2 guitar
amps, a bass amp and a PA system. We taped the rehearsals.
The band have been performing in the North Hollywood area.
My old mate Ken
Basman the guitar great was in town in June from Mexico for a gig
at the Ford Theater in Hollywood.
We also hung out at Drumroll...
Canadian Producer/Writer/Guitar Player Jim
Huff brought brilliant new Canadian
artist Ollie in for a drum session with Steve
Ferrone for a film.
Later Jim and JJ mixed the track on the Control 24.
In July Jim and Ollie returned with Canadian Mega Drummer
Randy
Cooke to track
for Ollie's new album along with Alaskan Bass Man John
Button.
A splendid Canadian time was had by all.

the Ollie Session
Randy and John demanded to play on Emily's new single
when they should have been
going home and did a spectacular job.
Here's the first pressing of Emily's
new Single Surrender
The
new Emily Album Valhalla
is available now as a first pressing from MP3.com.
It features new tracks produced by Sean Halley
and yours truly.
Emily also did a great version of a song of mine - Sacrifice
which features Danny Halperin on Drums.
Mike Campbell from
The Heartbreakers came in to give a guitar
lesson
to a lucky fan who won the bid for it on Ebay.
We recorded the lesson and we jammed with Steve with me on Bass.
Proceeds of the bid went to The
Lili Claire Foundation for Sick Children.
Duran
Duran hit Hollywood playing at the Roxy with the original
Band lineup (click on Pic).
I also ran into Warren
at the Party.
Over at MP3.com you can get yet another no frills version of One More Moment In Time with a completely different song order and a few alternate tracks. An even newer US version of the Album will be available shortly on Drumrollrecords.
You can still hear 2 pre-production demos of new songs from my 2nd album which will be finished before Christmas!
Also at MP3.com you can now get an album of my song demos called Lost, But Not for Golfing
Tunes on MP3.com:

The world is becoming more reckless by the day. The media continue to fudge the reality of events around us, especially ones driven by the West's need for Oil and Gas. Despite the blatant actions of the Bush administration and the US Congress and Senate's inability to rise to the challenge the media are laying down and changing the subject rather than confronting the truth.
As we continue wasting
energy and destroying our planet's soil, air and water the future looks very
dark for us and for all of the worlds poor who have to pay for it. Now we have
to listen to the band of idiots debate the use of 16 words to justify the utter
havoc and devastation we wrought on Iraq when everything the man said was designed
to make us all believe the need to attack Saddam before he attacked us.
Now that we know they barely had a working communication system let alone WMD
the press should scream bloody murder and stop sitting on their hands and show
some balls.
The USA and Europe will stop at nothing to acquire the Oil and Gas they need
to keep their economies growing. A few thousand more bombs from now, probably
dropped on West Africans and the new oil rich Iran, will do the trick now that
the precedent has been set to use force to ensure the supplies needed to fuel
our rampant consumerism.
