My Times
I have always been a fan of Frank Sinatra. We share the same birthday, if not the same friends.
Frank will be an impossible act to follow. His life as a living legend can only grow with his passing. Thanks for the music Frank!
The Music Pages have changed again and now have a little taste of my Film scoring from the Stuart Bliss movie.
I have started to lean toward Real Audio files for this site, not for the sound quality, but for the simple convenience.
The Real Audio Player is free and easy to download from Real.Com.
From time to time I have mentioned my chronic back pain. It probably started when I was playing Ice Hockey and was made worse by having to cart my music equipment around as well all the years of making music and other things while sitting down in front of a computer!
It would probably be ok if I didn't love playing golf so much...
This is a very interesting site full of resources relating to Musicians and Injuries that is well worth looking into. If you don't have problems now, you will in the future if you play an instrument or spend endless ours in the studio and at the computer.
While looking for answers I came across Gracie Stands, who make stands for many instruments that take the strain of our backs.
Here is an excellent place to Get Health Answers about any number of human problems.
One of the worlds most evil dictators, General Suharto, has resigned as President of Indonesia. I wouldn't think that replacing himself with one of his buddies will do very much to quell the unrest in the worlds 4th largest country!
While it's possible that the future might have brightened slightly for some Indonesians, especially the Military leaders, the real reasons for his resignation, according to the media, are related to the economic suffering of the people caused by the poor state of the economy.
In reading a variety of news articles from around the world it seems that state sponsored terrorism and the complete totalitarian supression of even the most basic human rights has nothing to do with their protesting! - LA Times - The Resignation and a somewhat
different view of it...
For years the brutal Indonesian dictatorship has been supported by the US and other governments. Indonesia controls vast Oil reserves as well as the only place that Nuclear submarines can travel between the Indian and Pacific Oceans without detection, in the great deep sea ditch next to East Timor. Because of this, President Ford was only too happy to donate millions of US taxpayers money to the Indonesian Armed Forces the night before they invaded East Timor and massacred as many as 250,000 people in 1975.
And millions of dollars and training support have been thrown away since in order to protect US and multi-national business from the rights of the Indonesian people.
That is why they are protesting. Not because they can't buy a microwave oven or a large screen TV!
This is a golden opportunity for the worlds press to highlight the real problems in the world today and to place the blame where it belongs, on governments and the International Monetary Fund who will always cater to the business leaders that pay for their tenures in office rather than do anything for the people who are forced to slave away throughout their wretched lives without an ounce of hope for anything better...I thought we were supposed to be promoting Democracy?
Only if it's good for business!
"President Suharto has given much to his country over the past 30 years," she declared, "raising Indonesia's standing in the world and hastening Indonesia's economic growth."
