MLK Jr's 70th Birthday...

My Times

Today was my 4th annual Rose Woods Holiday Golf Tournament and despite the rain and because of an eagle I tied for the win but was relegated to 2nd because of an ugly double bogie on the "count back" hole. It's the third year in a row I've won a trophy.
The Martin Luther King Day holiday was a great day to have some fun and raise money for Sickle Cell research at the Montebello Golf Club in East Los Angeles and also a day to be reminded of a great mans contribution to mankind.

The last 2 weeks I have been busy with mixing, producing and writing.

The mixing is 5.1 surround sound on a Soundtracs DPC-II digital console. I'm getting up to speed with all the bells and whistles and I'll be mixing more tracks this week
I'll let you know more about what I am mixing when I can...

I started a new track for Canadian singer songwriter Christina with super guitarist Sean Halley that is turning out very well. Christina has one independently released CD in the stores and is hoping to get a new one out soon...

We're starting on the next Emily Richards CD in the next week or 2. Emily hits the road on a 20 city US tour in April...

One of my newest songs, written over Christmas - Falling Out Again - is on hold with 2 artists and looks likely to get recorded in the next month...

I'm hoping to confirm a live streaming video web broadcast concert I will be doing with my band on February 16th on the NetThis TV web site. If you haven't already, check out Emily's archived show from last year...
I have no news yet on the video from last years Troubador show...

Continuing on last weeks subject about Homelessness, todays news about the widenening Income Gap between the Rich and the Poor in America will shed light on the media's power over our thinking. According to economist Deborah Reed, who works for the Public Policy Institute of California, "In the 1970's and 1960's we were talking about more one-earner families, now we're talking about two-earner families having the same income level that one-earner families used to have."

If you were interested in my mention last week of Eye Trek from Olympus then you will be pleased to see that you can buy them on the internet.
Giant screen high definition sunglasses with surround sound...Yikes!

" A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death"
