My Times

This week WebSight Magazine is my site of the week. I bought the magazine before visiting their site.
They have many excellent links and articles about the Web!

I am still using Netscape 2.0 b3. We still do not have "plug-ins" for Mac OS!
I check the Java homepage almost daily, as well as the developers kit at Netscape.

I have spent some time looking at the "plug-in" fun, on a friends PC.
If you have not seen what I'm talking about then look out! It's amazing!

Last week I mentioned that you could download the new Beatle song at the John Lennon site, before it became an Electric Light Orchestra song!
I however made an html mistake, which made it impossible for you to hear the song Free as a Bird from this page.
This has now been fixed!

Other than the John Lennon quote you can hear if you click on my picture, I also have sounds on my Hobbies page. Let me know if you have any problems.

All of the projects I have been working on are nearing completion. I will let you know any details about release dates etc as soon as possible.
Last week I mentioned my conversation with Nick & Warren from Duran Duran, fingers crossed for a May 95 release of the new album!.

For those of you who are working in the recording studio, I have just transferred all of my Alesis ADAT tracks to a Sony 3348, digitally, twenty four tracks at a time using the Otari UFC24! It works.
If you record all your tracks onto the ADAT through an Apogee A to D, then transfer them to Sony 3348 for mixing, you could not have better sonic qualities along with the fantastic convenience of the ADAT system for your project!
I am very pleased indeed!

Motor Racing

Why is everyone "slagging off" Damon Hill these days?
Damon is not some lucky guy who got the plum drive of a life time! He is a fantastic Grand Prix driver, and the only driver capable of competing with Michael Schumacher, as he has proven time and again!
It is most unfortunate that the press have to write such garbage about him when they do not know what they are talking about! Why not ask Alan Prost or look back to the interviews given by the late great Senna about Damon.
Let us not forget that Hill is only entering his 4th season with a full time drive!
Try and find anyone other than Shooey who has such an enviable record in Formula One!

Politics

I must watch what I say in this segment of my news page!
One of my good friends did not take kindly to my Rupert Murdoch comments last week.
I must say that I was not making a personal slight at Rupert, but just making the point that Major International Corporations do not play the same game that the average person does.
In fact they do not even play by the same rules. Look at any industry and see how governments treats them.
For example, the Automobile industry.
They receive Huge tax and cash incentives to re-locate manafacturing to the markets they sell in. In Europe and in the USA, hundreds of millions of tax payer money is given to these companies.
In the USA, Toyota is about to build a 300 million dollar plant, where the State is "writing" off the costs through land grants and tax holidays! All so that Toyota can avoid the falling US dollar!
What's even more infuriating to me, is that these Car makers use more energy and create more pollution building the cars, than we ever will driving them!
And dare I ask who is paying to clean up the mess?
What is wrong with this picture?
