A great surprise to hang out with Sam Reid and Joey Niceforo last week! We saw the location of a number of old train depots in the Los Angeles area!
We had a sweet session with Steve Postell at his studio in Alla, with Craig Macintyre (drums), Jon Ossman (bass), Peter Adams (Keys) and Steve (electric and acoustic guitars) at the helm.

Today marks four years since the devastating Tohoku Earthquake tragedy in Japan, “the fourth largest earthquake in history”. Our thoughts are with the victims, who are still facing the gigantic task of rebuilding their homes.
The situation in and around the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant is as critical as it was in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami. Aerial photos show that very little has changed in four years. Long term solutions for the future are still being formulated.
HOPE(HD/字幕) – Nick Wood feat. Julian Lennon, Tetsuya Komuro, and BEYOND Tomorrow Students from SynTokyo on Vimeo.
Along with John Jones, Michael Thompson and Randy Cooke.
This inspiring song is dedicated to supporting the ongoing recovery of the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami.

All proceeds from the sale of the song and video will be donated to Beyond Tomorrow – www.beyond-tomorrow.org.

Another year, another crop of great singers and musicians auditioning for the Rotary Club of Hollywood Music Awards.
The awards are cash to help school age musicians continue their education into college and university.
The director of the awards is our great friend, composer and violinist, Benedikt Brydern.
This year’s judges were David Wheatley, Benedikt, myself and Melody St. John. The auditions were held at the Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood.
The fifth wheel in the photo is the amazing Stormy Sacks, who accompanied many of the teenagers on piano.
Stormy is the Grammy Nominated composer/producer, who put the Hollywood High School music program on the map!

Da Da will always be one of the great albums of the 1980s to me. I was there, learning every day, when they recorded it in our studio, ESP, in Buttonville.
Dick Wagner was a monster guitar player and song writer and producer and a powerful personality. He passed away in 2014 after a very successful and fullfilling life!
I’m quoted near the end of the interview. What an education it was to hang out with Dick Wagner, Alice Cooper, Bob Ezrin, Dee Long and John Clarke, all those years ago!
