A great influence, on many of us, has passed away. Nash the Slash is no more!

Long Live Nash the Slash!

From the Worth’s basement on Bayview avenue listening to Clear rehearse, to his time with the Canadian band FM, with my former bandmate, Cameron Hawkins, we crossed many paths.
Nash the Slash was a master musician and innovator. A true rebel without a cause. I’m not sure he could be born today… R.I.P. Jeff Plewman.

The 7th Annual Producers & Engineers Wing Grammy celebration at the Village Studios honoring Neil Young was a special night.

Neil Young on stage in the ballroom at the Village Studios

I shot this short clip of the introductory part of Neil’s speech to show the atmosphere in the ballroom. It was fantastic!

And then Dave Mathews came out and played a couple of Neil’s songs.

And here is one of the traditional photos many of us take at these events.

A long time ago, in a land far away…more than 30 years ago…

Alice Cooper came to ESP Studios in Buttonville with Bob Ezrin, Dick Wagner, and Ringo Hrycyna to record DaDa.

Dee Long helped with the engineering and the Fairlight programming and I helped Dee and Alice.

Along with Dee Long, Frank Watt, Noel, John Clarke, our families and many friends, we we managed to record and produce a lot of music between 1979 and 1985 in the old blacksmith shop, and when interest rates were over 20 percent, and the only game in town was Capitol Records of Canada.

The Rational Youth album Heredity that Dee produced with Tracy Howe, and a little help from me, was a beautiful and classic album, and still one of my favorites which I guess Tracy doesn’t like, and after which Dee and I moved to London, United Kingdom, and joined George Martin’s AIR Studios on Oxford Street.
