Miles Joseph, a great musician and a wonderful guy died suddenly over Christmas.
“I am saddened to inform you guys that I just got a call from Nina (Miles ex) that he passed away, last night, December 25th 2012, of a heart attack. I, as you are I’m sure, am deeply saddened by the loss of this great guitarist, sober man, and close friend. He will be sorely missed in our community of music. Stephen Ferrone”
I spent a lot of time with Miles at Drumroll with Steve and Farm Fur and a dozen other projects.
I want to send our deepest sympathies to his family and close friends. Miles will be missed!

When we weren’t playing chess, Ken Basman was our York Mills guitar hero! We played together in a band from school through to our early working lives as musicians.
Ken sent me a photo of a visitor to his studio in San Miguel de Allende, MX. Donald Fagen is producing an album for a local group at Ken’s this week.

Way back when we were at St. Andrews Jr. High School in Toronto , we were all in a band making music together. Ah, how time flies.
Daniel van Kranendonk played his heavy metal Gibson SG Custom in our band back in the early 70’s. Now he lives in Denmark and plays Jazz.

After another great trip to Brazil with Richard Martinez for Music is Hope Foundation to visit Meninos Do Morumbi.
Even though it was twelve hours on a plane with a six hour time difference, we had a blast going to concerts and rehearsals with Flavio Pimenta and the kids.
