What a fun night it was at the Village in west Los Angeles this past week. Thanks to Frank Oglethorpe at Prism Sound for the invite!
After being introduced to Quincy Jones by Steve Ferrone. I mentioned that Sir George Martin had introduced us 15 years ago in Los Angeles when George was putting his hands in the cement at guitar Center on Sunset Blvd. George told me that Quincy was the greatest music producer that the world has ever known!
After a few stories on the couch this week I found out that Quincy feels the same way about George!
Another great Monday night was had by all this week. Thanks to everyone!

2010 started with a visit to Anaheim for the largest music store on earth known as the NAMM show. Anaheim was founded by German immigrants next to the Santa Ana river in Southern California in the 1850’s. Today it’s better known as the home of another old German invention, Disneyland. (more on that at a later date)
If you thought the rock and roll roadie look was confined to touring band employees you would have been mighty surprised to find yourself at a multi-age Roadie Convention. You could swear Gene Simmons just walked past you for the 10th time.

Along the way i ran into Steve Cooke & son, and the lovely Sandra. (Steve is playing at the Hollywood Renaisance on Thursday the 21st of January (tomorrow)).
Last week I had a chance to drive it briefly on about 1 mile of very smooth and gently curving black top.
Bragging that i had been driven around Brands Hatch by Jackie Stewart caused my host to select “Race” mode on the steering wheel.
On my first try with the gear paddles, while changing to 2nd gear, I hit the window washers!
This car has unbelievable acceleration and braking! It felt like a rocket! I had to feather the throttle pedal and the brake pedal, they were ultra sensitive.
On my way back to the office I managed to give it a bit of a blast and accelerated up to 3rd gear before doing some very hard braking with a pounding heart!
I love the reverse button!
